Split-Level Trex Deck + Fence — Medford
A badly deteriorated wood deck, an inset hot-tub area the homeowners no longer wanted, and a failing fence were replaced with a cleaner, more usable split-level outdoor space built around low-maintenance Trex decking, redesigned stairs, a new cedar fence, and powder-coated metal railing.

The original wood deck was in extremely rough shape. The lower section had been built around a hot tub, but the homeowners wanted the hot tub removed so the rebuilt space could feel more open and useful. The surrounding fence had also deteriorated and was ready to be replaced.
New support where the redesigned deck needed it.
For the upper deck section, we cut into the existing concrete slab where necessary so new concrete footings could be poured for the rebuilt structure. The work was laid out around the revised deck configuration and the homeowners' preferred stair location.
Pressure-treated framing and stairs repositioned for better use.
The new deck structure was framed with pressure-treated lumber for durability. The split-level layout was rebuilt without the old inset hot-tub configuration, opening up the lower area and making the overall footprint easier to use.
The stairs were repositioned to better match the homeowners' preferences and create a more natural transition between the upper and lower levels.
Low-maintenance composite decking replaces the weathered wood surface.
Trex composite decking was installed across the rebuilt structure, creating a cleaner surface that requires far less routine maintenance than the original wood deck. Careful cutting and edge work prepared the decking for the finished perimeter and stair details.
